Partners with Sierre Anniviers and Valais Region of Switzerland

Val d'Anniviers

The Val d’Anniviers is a paradise for downhill skiing.  In this region there are actually four ski areas based around five quiet, unspoiled very traditional villages set amongst beautiful mountain landscape, some of the finest in Switzerland.

The name Anniviers is derived from the Latin "ad nives" meaning in the snow. The sight of the eternal snow of the Valaisan Alps, contrasted against the vines in the Rhône Valley, leaves a lasting impression on all who see it.

In winter this valley offers something for everyone from the fantastic piste skiing of St Luc  / Chandolin, to the wonderful piste skiing and off piste freeride skiing of Grimentz and Zinal.

Zuba Ski has chosen to offer its clients a wide range of truly traditional accommodation in four of the best located villages in the Val D’Anniviers.  All four ski areas are accessible on the same ski pass and all four offer excellent varied piste skiing, with Grimentz and Zinal also offering a fine range of off piste possibilities.  All of the villages are connected by local bus service.

Skiing in the Val D’Anniviers from 1,350m – 3,026m offers 220km of piste skiing on one lift pass accessed by 44 lifts, along with the convenience of 11 mountain restaurants.  Winter attractions include three snowparks, a freeride area and off-piste ski routes as well as opportunities for avalanche training, tobogganing, snow shoe trekking and ice skating.

Key highlights of this region in the heart of Valais are the ‘Imperial crown’ - five 4,000m mountains (among them the 4,505m Weisshorn), picturesque, old traditional villages, the St. Luc Astronomical Observatory perched high in the mountains, close to the stars, the astonishing Zinal Glacier grotto, Finges’ nature reserve where the wild Rhone flows...

Sierre-Anniviers is a holiday region, with family friendly resorts and ski areas, marked walking paths and a whole range of nature and leisure activities.

This region, which is famous for its natural beauty, is also well known for its friendly atmosphere and its wine.
